Militia files, 1841-1845.

The governor of Ala. acts as the Commander-in-chief of the state militia. This series consists of correspondence basically concerned with the acquisition and distribution of arms. Also included is a letter reporting the formation of a volunteer company in the Huntsville, Ala. area with the purpose of aiding Tex. in its disputes with Mexico.
